Napili Kai Beach Resort — Maui

Maui, Hawaii

About This Camera

This live webcam overlooks Napili Bay from the Napili Kai Beach Resort on Maui's northwest coast. The camera captures one of Maui's most picturesque beach settings — a sheltered, crescent-shaped bay with calm turquoise water, golden sand, and the lush green slopes of the West Maui Mountains rising behind the resort. It is frequently rated among the best beaches in Hawaii. Napili Bay is naturally protected from heavy surf by its orientation and the rocky points at each end of the crescent. This makes it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding year-round. Green sea turtles frequently visit the bay, grazing on the algae that grows on the rocky bottom. During whale season (December through April), humpback whales can often be seen breaching and spouting in the channel between Maui and Molokai, visible from the camera. Morning viewing (6-9 AM HST) offers the best conditions: calm water, soft golden light, and the chance to watch the bay wake up as early swimmers and paddlers take to the water. Sunset sessions are equally stunning, with the sun dropping toward the horizon and painting the sky in shades of orange, pink, and purple over the Pacific. Napili Kai Beach Resort has been a fixture on Maui's northwest coast since 1962 and is known for its Hawaiian cultural programs, weekly slack-key guitar concerts, and the Aloha spirit that defines the property. Nearby attractions include Kapalua Bay (another world-class snorkeling spot), the D.T. Fleming Beach, and the scenic drive along the Honoapiilani Highway toward Lahaina.
