Waikiki Beach Cam

Hilton Hawaiian Village, Waikiki, HI

About This Camera

This live beach cam overlooks Waikiki Beach from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, one of the largest resort properties in Hawaii. The camera is positioned to capture the wide sweep of Waikiki's western shoreline, including the lagoon, the beach fronting the resort's Rainbow Tower, and the Pacific Ocean stretching to the horizon. On clear days, you can see the outline of Diamond Head in the distance. Waikiki Beach is arguably the most famous beach in the world. Originally a marshy wetland used by Hawaiian royalty for surfing and recreation, the area was transformed into a tourist destination in the early 1900s. Today it welcomes over 4 million visitors annually. The beach is known for its gentle waves — perfect for beginner surfers and bodyboarders — and warm, clear water that stays in the mid-70s Fahrenheit year-round. The camera captures the daily rhythm of Waikiki: early morning paddle surfers catching small waves, mid-morning beach setup as umbrellas and chairs appear, the peak afternoon crowd, and the spectacular Hawaiian sunset that draws everyone to the water's edge. The Hilton's Friday night fireworks show (typically at 7:45 PM HST) is also visible from this camera during clear evenings. Best viewing times are early morning (6-8 AM HST) for peaceful scenes and clean water, and sunset (5:30-7 PM HST) for dramatic skies. The Hilton Hawaiian Village includes shops, restaurants, a catamaran launch for sunset sails, and the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon — a calm, man-made lagoon perfect for children. The adjacent Fort DeRussy Beach Park offers open green space and some of the widest sand in Waikiki.
