About these cameras

The Seward Highway runs about 125 miles from Anchorage to Seward, squeezed between the Chugach Mountains and the huge tides of Turnagain Arm for its most famous stretch. The cameras here follow it out of the city — the New Seward Highway intersections in Anchorage — and then along the scenic miles: Divide, Portage Glacier Road, and the passes.

In winter these are genuinely practical: the highway’s avalanche-control closures and coastal storms show up on camera before they show up anywhere else. In summer they are simply one of the better scenic-drive previews on this site.
