About Yosemite's webcams
Yosemite National Park spans 748,000 acres in California's Sierra Nevada. The Valley — just 7 miles long and one mile wide — concentrates the park's most famous features: Half Dome rising 4,737 feet above the Valley floor, El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall, and the Merced River winding through meadows.
The live cameras here stream NPS views of the Valley and surrounding high country. Light changes dramatically through the day — the golden hour just after sunrise paints Half Dome's east face, and afternoon light catches El Capitan's vertical walls.
Best times to watch
Sunrise and sunset give the most dramatic light. In winter, snow-covered granite against blue sky is stunning. In spring, waterfalls run full from snowmelt. Summer crowds can obscure Valley views with haze.
When is Yosemite open?
Yosemite Valley is open year-round, though the Tioga Road (to Tuolumne Meadows) closes in winter. Entry requires a timed entry permit during peak season (May–September). The live cams run 24/7 regardless of permit windows.
